Moshirolmolk Caravanserai, also known as Borazjan Castle, is located in the town of Borazjan, in Dashtestan County, in the southern province of Bushehr.
On the sidelines of the visit, a senior official of the Ministry of Cultural Heritage, Tourism and Handicrafts said the UNESCO advisors will stay in Iran for the next few days to examine the proposed cases.
Then, the results of the studies on the caravansarais will be presented to UNESCO World Heritage Committee for the final decisions to come out next summer, Mohammad Hassan Talebian said.
He described the Moshirolmolk Caravanserai as a symbol of Iranian culture and history and said the cultural site has been registered on the national heritage list about four decades ago.
It is expected that Moshirolmolk Caravanserai will be put on the World Heritage list after repairments, he added.
Some 42 caravansarais proposed to UNESCO have already been visited by the organization’s inspectors, he stated.
Moshirolmolk Caravanserai is the first historical site introduced by Bushehr Province to UNESCO.
As the official announced, Iran dispatched information from 56 caravansarais in 24 provinces to UNESCO two years ago.
All of the caravansarais used to be on the most important trade routes in the country.
Moshirolmolk Caravanserai with an area of 6,300 square meters is built of stone and connected trade routes of southern Iranian provinces of Bushehr and Fars.
